This is a beautiful picture i saw in Wikipedia of my homeland Wales. I just had to share this, It looks cold but lovely.

My search for funds

I am giving it my all to get funds to help my mother. I have been knocked back by alot of government agencies. I am not asking for alot of money, for the government it is like a drop in the ocean. I don't know how it makes sense to have a drug (flolan) and put it on the PBS then not make the pump available to dose it. The medicine is the only thing standing in the way of my mother having a functional life. It is hard enough being sick without trying to find funds to get better. Pulmonary hypertension doesn't just effect a persons health it also eats away at a persons soul. I don't know how my mother does it. To all the pulmonary hypertension sufferers out there, the unrepresented, the breathless without voice, Stay strong, fight for what you need. The prevalence of Pulmonary hypertension is on the rise mostly the secondary type because of the fen phen phenomenon and also the amount of people sufferer with aids is very high and they tend to get Pulmonary Hypertension in it's secondary form. Regardless of cause the voices will get louder and always historically speaking there is power in numbers, then the governments of the world will have to make pulmonary hypertension medicines available. I hope to find a Pulmonary Hypertension support group within Australia that isn't just interested in having tea with cookies.

Competition Fanatic

Lately I have found myself entering any and everything available. It is driven by my need to get money, money for vital equipment to save a life, the life of my dearest mother. I can't give up on the idea that I may in fact win then I would be able to cash up and run to the hospital. I can't believe health care in Australia has gotten to this point, where she is more likely to be treated if I win the lotto. I can't sit and watch her fade without the medicine she needs being given to her. FLOLAN.. small name but very high price, the pumps alone are almost 10k, then the on-going expense of the consumables is $900 AUD a month. Then there is Glivec- the experimental drug for Pulmonary Hypertension showing great promise, I don't think that there is a more expensive drug available and medicare don't cover experimental drugs no matter how good the reviews. So I'm going to keep entering into competitions with the vague hope that I may win something for her, and keep the hope that the federal health minister or executive director for RPA show some compassion to my mum and at least fund the Flolan pump and consumables.

Donkey Xote

I have recently seen this movie and I have to advise all not to bother watching it. A waste of time and film. It's not funny but rather a TRY-HARD movie.

Brain Training

I have been using this game now for about a year, I think it is an excellent game and highly recommend it to anyone, especially anyone with concentration problems. When my brother passed away I was unable to focus through my grief, the pain had absorbed my every conscious thought. I had boiled a pot of water dry left taps running and wet clothes in the washing machine because I had no way of concentrating on these mediocre chores. I then found the ability to brain train and I found I was able to get through daily chores without almost burning the house down. I have also since then bought Mathematics training and sight training, they are OK but the best games I have are More Brain Training followed by Brain Training and then Big Brain Academy, which I have heard is being banned because if you don't do too well in the training it has been known to call the player a spastic! It never happened to me but I don't think I'd like it to either.

Kung Fu Panda

I have recently seen Kung Fu Panda, it was funny suitable for children but my only problem with it was the FAT inferance. I have noticed that increasingly lately Hollywood movies often point a stick at fatties. Fat people have feelings too! Regardless though a very nice watchable movie obviously Jack Black as the tiltle role also Jackie Chan as a Monkey, Dustin Hoffman as Shifu the Panda's Kung Fu trainer and Angelina Jolie as a Tiger.

Fires of Pompeii

The latest shown episode of Doctor Who on ABC1 was a lovely tale of the Doctor and his companion Donna visiting an historical Roman period of Pompeii. The sad reality for the Doctor and Donna was that the Doctor had actually created the volcanic eruption that wiped Pompeii out, in order to save the rest of the world from some Pirovillians whose world had gone missing. The worst of it was the Pirovillians were unwilling to communicate with the Doctor and were hurting people in the mean time. Poor Donna though she literally begged the Doctor to save some helpless Pompeiians. The sad reality of a Time Lord. The last in existance.

Big Brother is Gone

Now we've come to the end of Big Brother in Australia, I have to say though. It didn't finish soon enough. Even the adds for that show were disgusting. Talk about smut and filth. I'll be happy to never again even hear about that show. There was even an icon on my mobile to access video from the BB House 24 hours a day. Yeah right! So all in all Glad to see the end is nigh. I am sure there are other TV shows that can keep the kiddies interested with a bit more morality. Hey Kiddies ever seen Doctor Who????

I want to see Sarah Jane Adventures in Australia

I have been waiting for somebody to announce to commencement of the Sarah Jane Adventures (spin off from Doctor Who) but nobody has done to date. The popular assistant to the Doctor's character has been a recently revised role and she is ever so popular. Miss Sarah Jane Smith with K9 and co. Waiting waiting waiting....

RETAILERS SALES A MAJOR LET DOWN

As usual I have scoped most of the major retailers in Sydney, like Target, Kmart, Big W, Myer you get the idea and have felt that this half-yearly sales are a major waste of time, the only exception in that was target which had sale items cheaper than advertised. All in all very disappointing this year. I wait for the sales, it gives me a chance to stock up for the winter, especially this year with Petrol prices being so high, pushing up the price of all consumables. I hope the end of year sales wont be as much of a waste of time, I'll have to wait until boxing day to find out, time will tell.

Doctor Who series 4 finale

For all the Australian Doctor Who fans out there, the finale to this series is amazing. It has 2 Doctors, Donna/Doctor, Martha, Captain Jack+Torchwood Gang, Rose, Mickey, Rose's mother Jackie, Sarah Jane Smith+son, K9, Davros Yes Davros and a Dalek army hell-bent on universal destruction also a return of Dalek Caan. The TARDIS is almost destroyed by the supreme Dalek. A quick visit to the shadow proclamation to make things interesting where the Doctor and Donna are greeted by a Judoon Platoon. The series 3 finale I thought prior to watching this could not be topped, I was very wrong, I would have to say the episodes "The Stolen Earth" and "Journey's End" are the best Doctor Who I have ever seen.

Student Report Card Layout

Since the new Australian standard public school report card system came out, I have to say that I don't like it. It is Graded in 2 ways, firstly being progress and secondly being effort, I've had children with the lowest level effort yet highest grade in the class and vice-versa. Students with a sound knowledge of a particular subject get a "C" which also happens to be the average level of most student so it seems.

My ADIDAS

As the wise RunDMC once said. I have recently bought the comfiest shoes in my life, Adidas Bounce. Seriously now, I have had a "Shoe Thing" for quite a few years and have tried just about every make of shoe and nothing compares to the comfort of the "Bounce". I have even taken to wearing them instead of my Ugg boats at home. Give em a go! They even have a a spare coloured sole that shows on the outside of the shoe, I can alternate between pink and maroon, really cool. What did I hear adidas stood for..... thats right All Day I Dream About Something A-D-I-D-A-S.

I'd like you all to see this for yourselves.

This is the sad state of affairs, Pulmonary hypertension- the unnoticed illness

How to Copy DVD's using Freeware

I have received alot of email about this. I advise three different software be installed to proceed. The first being finalburner the freeware edition, a very effective burning tool. I would also advise dvdshrink 3.2 the best user friendly shrinking utility I have used to date. dvd43 is an excellent decoder vista compatible. Don't download finalburner if you already have nero or roxio installed. Firstly Rip the desired dvd using dvdshrink it has a very easy interface then burn the files using the same software, Nero, I have found intergrates very well with dvdshrink, The dvd43 sits in the background and does it's job.

I have found out recently that I am rather intolerant

I have found myself rather anti-social of late. I would rather order goods online than to front the shopping queues. Last week I was looking at a stall and found that I was being followed by an obnoxiously smelling individual. Seriously, with the invent of deodorant there is really no excuse, and for noobies to western civilisation please, please, please, it doesn't matter, roll on or spray, it's all good. To all taxi driver, you stink, ever heard of personal hygiene OMG! I will not go on a bus these days, touch money, banisters, buttons, ATM's or anything else everybody else touches.
Basic Hygiene 101: Shower Daily, Use Deodorant and for Gods sake, wash your hands after going to the toilet.
